Southern Right Whale (Eubalaena australis)
Two Southern Right Whales were close to the rocky headland just west of Cheynes Beach. Based on their behaviour and size, we concluded that they were a female with its offspring. The female is the one with its tail in the air, apparently a common behaviour of mother whales. The young whale is closer to the camera.
